Winter Garden started as a multidisciplinary art project that comprised an experimental dance and an interview video featuring Svenja, the dance artist. The interview video captures Svenja’s insights into her creative process. I intentionally adopted the role of an observer, granting Svenja the artistic freedom to explore and express her own interpretation of the Winter Garden.
I made a handmade journaling page featuring a handwritten poem that revealed my interpretation of the creative Winter Garden. The project's brief, which I shared with Svenja, is also presented on a separate journaling page. I often use creative journals to develop my projects, which helps me clarify the direction in which my work is heading. The project's context and abstract are also incorporated into the journaling pages. My practice utilises various artistic approaches and mediums, reflecting my neurodiversity.
The Winter Garden underwent several transformations before I labelled the project as a "holding space," where seeds of ideas, unexpressed projects, and future plans await their chance to bloom into reality.
